Mainly dry Wednesday, more rain in sight for Portland area. Here's what to know
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A pleasant, mostly dry Wednesday is in store across the Pacific Northwest. But keep the rain jacket handy, as more rain is on the way.
A few breaks in the clouds will help the sun shine across western Oregon and southwest Washington today. Temperatures are expected to warm close to 70 degrees as skies stay dry into the afternoon. The next chance for rain arrives around Portland anytime after sunset on Wednesday.
Rain accumulation could be near almost a quarter to half an inch from the valley to the coast by Thursday morning. That would help Portland keep its surplus in wet weather seen so far during the month of May. Gear up for showers on the morning commute, but a drier Thursday afternoon is likely.
Thursday's hit in temperature across Portland and Vancouver will gradually rebound by the end of the week. Summer-like conditions are expected by the long holiday weekend as dry skies return. We'll track a slight chance for a few showers come Memorial Day Monday.
