Season 2 of 'Andor' Has Made Impressive IMDB History
The newest Star Wars films have been divisive among the fan community, but the television adaptations in the Disney era of the franchise have been well received by almost all fans of the iconic sci-fi property.
The Mandalorian was the first show to break through for Disney+, giving the streaming platform its first true hit. Pedro Pascal played the titular character, opening the door for the roles and films he's starred in over the last few years.
Andor has been met with even greater acclaim, and its second season has already made television history. The season finale aired earlier this month - and contained a "sneaky" post-credits surprise - but the entire run of episodes was well received.
The show's social media account pointed out that the last five episodes have all received ratings of 9.5/10 or higher on the Internet Movie Database, known as IMDb.

It's the first show in history to earn the honor, and some are advocating for Andor to be considered as a nominee for the upcoming primetime Emmy awards.
Within the greater Star Wars continuity, the show serves as a prequel to the 2016 film "Rogue One," itself a prequel to the first Star Wars film.
In the show, Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from Rogue One, where he assisted the Rebel Alliance in stealing plans for the Death Star from the Empire.
Andor focuses on his earlier work as a spy before the fateful final mission of his career.
The show's first season was nominated for an Emmy award as an Outstanding Drama Series, and Luna personally earned a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Globes.
The final season of HBO's Succession would win out in both instances, as Kieran Culkin won the Golden Globe that year for his portrayal of Roman Roy.
With Andor's second season receiving near universal critical acclaim, Luna is expected to be nominated for the award yet again. He'll face some tough competition after the success of another HBO series in The White Lotus, but it's clear that Andor has risen above the level of a successful Star Wars show.
The recent IMDb accomplishment makes it clear that Andor is more than just one of the best Star Wars shows of all time, or even just one of the best science fiction shows of all time.
The show is now separating itself as one of the best television shows ever, regardless of genre or source material.
