Cheapest Seat for Friday's Savannah Bananas Game is Turning Heads
If you've followed sports on social media over the last few years, you've certainly seen the Savannah Bananas. The team has become the most famous baseball team outside of MLB due to several viral moments at games.
The team is comparable to the Harlem Globetrotters in basketball, and they've taken the sport by storm with their on-field antics and fan engagement. Dance parties, flaming bats and batters on stilts have exemplified the games, changing the perception around the sport for casual fans.
Those fans are flocking to Major League Baseball stadiums around the country, and the Bananas are setting up shop in one team's stadium. Demand has become so intense that the Bananas' ticket now is pricier than the team's own seats.
Darren Rovell of Cllct says that the cheapest seat for Wednesday's Angels-Yankees game is going for only $14. For comparison, the cheapest ticket for Sunday's Bananas game in Anaheim is $144.

The fans have spoken, and they seem to prefer the chance to see the Bananas take on the Party Animals rather than stars like Aaron Judge in the same stadium.
The Angels may not be the most fair comparison to make for a top-tier MLB ticket, as they've been among the league's worst teams for several seasons.
Despite bringing in top players like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels haven't even advanced to the postseason since 2014. For their last playoff win, you'll need to go back even further to 2009.
The cheapest ticket for Friday's Dodgers-Yankees game is slightly comparable, as fans can take in the World Series rematch at Dodger Stadium for as low as $74.
The Bananas are currently sold out through July on their website, with availability opening up for their first September series in Minnesota. To end the summer, they'll head to MLB stadiums in Baltimore, Chicago and Pittsburgh while also making their way to some iconic college baseball venues.
MLB will still reign supreme for the baseball purists around the country, but there's no denying that the Savannah Bananas have carved out a successful niche for themselves within the baseball world.
