Temps about to rise in NW Oregon and SW Washington
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — How beautiful was the start of June!? It was so nice and sunny on Sunday as we hit our seasonal high in Portland of 72 degrees.
Looking at the averages for the month of June, our daytime high averages in the mid-70s with the overnight low hanging out in the mid-50s.
And as we start this month with dry conditions, just keep in mind that June's rainfall averages to be the 4th driest month of the year.
This week, the forecast is calling for even more widespread sunshine and warmer afternoons with temps rising into the upper 70s over the next two days. By mid-week, we'll see an increase in cloud coverage and a slight chance of a stray rain drop or two Wednesday and Thursday morning. Wednesday will also be a tad cooler than what we'll see on Monday and Tuesday, while the weekend is really looking to heat up!
Sunday could mark our first 90-degree day here in PDX. With a week out, the forecast, of course, could change a bit, but just gear up for a potential sizzling Sunday this coming week.
So, you can think of this week in three-sections:
- Start of the week: Mostly sunny and warm but pretty pleasant.
- Wednesday: Increase in clouds, cooler, slight chance of drizzle.
- Late in the week into the weekend: Toasty temps as summer heat builds.
