Rod Stewart, 80, Cancels Show Hours Before Scheduled Start Time Due to Illness
Rod Stewart canceled one of his residency shows at the last minute. On June 1, 2025, the music legend gave fans in Las Vegas the bad news. In a post on his Instagram stories hours before he was set to take the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Stewart announced that he had fallen ill and would not be able to perform.
"I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10," the 80-year-old music legend told his fans. "Your tickets will be valid for the new date."
Stewart has not posted an update on his condition, but fans flocked to social media to send him messages for best wishes to get well soon. Some concert goers who traveled to Las Vegas for the show were disappointed by the last-minute cancellation.
“How long do you think people go to Vegas for?” one commenter wanted to know.
Stewart played shows at the Colosseum on May 29, 31, and June 1, 2025, before cancelling the June 2 concert. His next shows are scheduled for June 5, 7, and 8 before the makeup date on the 10th, per Billboard.
In March, Stewart added new dates to his The Encore Shows residency at the Colosseum. “Las Vegas! You wanted more, so here we go—I’ve added more shows! I’ll be back at @colosseumatcp this September and October, Can’t wait to see you all for another round of unforgettable nights,” he shared on Instagram.
The “Maggie May” singer is also set to release a compilation album, Ultimate Hits, on June 27, 2025.
