I tried Primark’s ‘Farm Rio dupe range’ on a size 16 body – I loved one of their colourful coords for summer
SHOPPERS have been going crazy for Farm Rio’s dopamine-hitting, colourful dresses and tops.
But if you can’t afford the price tag, fear not, as Primark currently has a dupe range, with prices starting at just £8.
Created for a Brazilian market stall in 1997 by two friends, Kátia Barros and Marcello Bastos, Farm Rio’s bold prints are a tribute to Rio’s de Janeiro’s vibrant style.
Loved by the likes of Selena Gomez and Priyanka Chopra the brand has infiltrated the UK and most recently made its way into Selfridges – with prices in the hundreds.
But now Primark has launched a gorgeous replica range, and fashion lover Liz Alexander, who posts under @thelizeditorial, went to check it out.
The size 16 glam shopper was a huge fan of the range, and uploaded a video showing some items on the hanger and on her.
First up was a colourful top and matching midi skirt decorated in palm trees and flowers, that featured puffed sleeves.
Next up was a blue midi skirt and wrap top that looked sensational on Liz.
She also tried a top and shorts coord that looked ideal for holiday or a day at the beach.
The last Primark dress was her favourite and was a bright green midi dress with a V-neckline.
Many people loved the haul as much as she did, with one saying: “Girllllll the way Primark should be paying YOU because you WORE those.”
Another added: “stunning! every single one!”
Farm Rio was founded in 1997 by Kátia Barros and Marcello Bastos as a small booth in an independent fashion market in Rio de Janeiro.
Their fun designs, which reflected the lively spirit of Rio, quickly gained popularity, and they soon opened multiple stores across Brazil.
Farm Rio ventured into international markets in 2019, opening stores in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and London.
Each year, the brand produces over 700 unique prints.

AS someone who’s no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it’s about time that celebrities started catching on too.
For as long as I’ve been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those “I have nothing to wear” moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect.
And I’m definitely not alone – on any Friday or Saturday night, you’ll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time.
But no matter what, Primark always delivers.
