Iconic Pop Star, 37, Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Iconic British pop artist Jessie J has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The singer announced the update in a video posted June 3 to Instagram.
In the video, Jessie J said she had been “going back and forth” over whether she should reveal her diagnosis, but ultimately decided to be upfront with her followers. "I want to share it with my fans and the people that care about me, and also I'm a sharer,” she said. “I've always shared everything that I go through in my life. Before 'No Secrets' came out [in April], I was diagnosed with early breast cancer," she continued.

"I'm highlighting the word ‘early.’ Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word ‘early.’ I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period,” the singer explained, adding that she wanted to “be open and share it” rather than run from her diagnosis.
"One, because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough," she said. "I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.

"It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job,” Jessie J continued, adding that she was happy she’d be “getting to keep my [real] nipples.” “I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t--s and more music," she said. The Summertime Ball show is set to take place on June 15.
In the caption of her video, Jessie J wrote that the “last two months” since her diagnosis “have been so amazing, and having this go on alongside it on the sidelines has given me the most incredible perspective.”
