I tested Primark’s £12 underseat bag to see if Ryanair would really accept it – it makes holidays so much cheaper
MANY passengers are being left fuming after getting caught out by Ryanair’s strict baggage allowance for flights.
In a bid to comply with the rules and also to avoid paying for a cabin bag, one shopper decided to put Primark’s £12 underseat bag to the test.
Libbie May Fitzpatrick showed how she snapped up the budget retailer’s quilted underseat cabin bag for just over a tenner.
While the squishy bag comes in five colours – including sage green and black – she showed how she picked up one in baby pink.
After packing it up for a flight, she wrote: “Moment of truth – is the £12 Primark bag fitting on a Ryanair flight.”
Thankfully it was good news for the holidaymaker.
On her @libbiemayfitzpatrick account, she showed herself easily fitting the bag into the bag check at the gate.
Although the dimensions are not listed on the Primark website, it will have had to comply with Ryanair’s ruthless underseat baggage dimensions (40x20x25cm).
It is also ideal for EasyJet customers, with their under-seat cabin bag’s maximum dimensions being 45x36x20cm, including handles and wheels.
Primark shoppers were quick to chime in with their views on the bag.
In the comments of the video, one person wrote: “I’ve got this bag and used with Ryan Air was absolutely fine.”
Another added: “There’s a special place in heaven for you.”
The Primark listing states: “Pack smart for your next trip with this quilted cabin bag.
“It’s designed to fit under your seat, making travel a breeze.
“The light, quilted material gives it a soft, stylish look.
“It’s got plenty of space for your essentials, with zip closures to keep everything secure.
“Carry it with the grab handles or use the longer strap for easy carrying.
“This bag is your new handy travel buddy for short breaks or weekend getaways!”
In addition to this squishy bag, Primark also has a viral underseat suitcase for £25 that has gone viral.
If you are not able to get to a Primark, Sun Travel created a guide to their favourite cabin bags, ranging from budget bargains to stylish statement pieces, all of which will make your trip worry-free.
