Derrick Henry Makes Rushing Bet With Dan Patrick for Role in Adam Sandler Movie
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is one of the NFL’s biggest stars and has remained a force since his breakout campaign in 2018. If Henry can replicate the stellar season he put together with the Ravens in 2024, he also may have a chance to star on the big screen alongside his favorite actor.
Henry recently joined the Dan Patrick Show, and while the duo discussed his impressive campaign in which he rushed for 1,921 yards last season, an interesting deal was struck between Patrick and the Ravens star.
After Henry revealed that Sandler is his favorite actor, Patrick told him that if he rushes for 2,000 yards next season, he'll get the running back in an Adam Sandler movie.

"Say no more, the bet is on, no pressure," replied Henry.
The deal stemmed from Henry commenting on Patrick's sweatshirt, which the show's host revealed was actually from Sandler's upcoming movie Happy Gilmore 2. After Patrick said he'd get Sandler to send a video for Henry over to the Ravens, he proceeded to offer up the bet, and the running back didn't flinch while accepting.
The 2024 season marked Henry's first with the Ravens, and he scored 16 touchdowns on the ground while averaging a career-best 5.9 yards per attempt.
The 31-year-old running back has topped the 1,000-yard rushing mark in every season but one dating back to 2018. He tallied his second-most yards in a single season last year, with his only higher total coming in 2020, when he racked up 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns.
