The Governors Ball comes to Queens this weekend
FLUSHING, Queens (PIX11) -- Dozens of music's biggest names will take over Flushing Meadows Corona Park for three days for the annual Governors Ball music festival this weekend.
Starting on Friday at noon, headliners like Tyler the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, Feid, Hoizer, and more will turn the park into New York City's biggest party with three days of nonstop performances across three stages. More than 60 artists from around the world are set to perform throughout the day.

What is the Governors Ball?
The Governors Ball, also known as Gov Ball, is an annual multi-day music festival that began in 2011 on Governors Island. Now celebrating its 15th year, Gov Ball has since been dubbed New York City's "premier outdoor pop event" with some of the most notable and trending music artists. In 2023, the event made its new home in Queens.
When and where is Gov Ball?
Gov Ball will be held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens from Friday through Sunday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
Gates to the Main Entrance open at 11:45 a.m. between the Unisphere and Astronaut Court.

Which artists are performing?
Rapper Tyler the Creator and pop ballad singer Benson Boone will kick off the festival by headlining on Friday followed by singer Olivia Rodrigo and Columbian performer Feid on Saturday. The Irish musician Hozier and the rock band Glass Animals will round out the weekend on Sunday.
Other notable performers include T-Pain, Tyla, Marina, Conan Gray, Key Glock and almost 60 more artists. A full list of performances and the show schedule can be found here.
Are there food and drink options?
There will be multiple free water stations throughout the festival grounds along with several vendors from the Queens Night Market such as steamed buns from Mao's Bao, Hawaiian & Filipino-inspired food from Eemas Cuisine, spiral-shaped potato on a stick from Twisted Potato, Latin American dishes from La Braza, and Polish food from Matyldas.
Additionally, dozens of other popular New York eateries, presented by Coca-Cola, will open up shop at Gov Ball such as Roberta’s Pizza, Fan Fan Donuts, Cafe Habana, Butchery & Beyond, Lobster Rolls & More, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and more.

Are there still tickets available? Where can you buy them?
Single day, multiday, VIP, and other package deal tickets are still available with prices ranging from $179 to $1499. Prices are set to increase on Thursday at 11:59 p.m.
General admission tickets give access to more than 20 performances each day, food and shopping areas, brand experiences, bars, free water stations, and secure lockers with charging capabities for rent.
VIP access hosted by Rakuten give access to on-field viewing areas located behind the pit, air-conditioned restrooms, private bar, on-site VIP hospitality staff, and lounges located at all stages with shade, seating, and direct access to viewing areas.
Cabana ticket packages presented by Verizon offers access to all three days of the festival and includes all the amenities of VIP and GA with upgrades. Verizon customers can take advantage of dedicated luxury cabana suites, elevated viewing space of the Main Stage, complimentary snacks and dinner buffet and a complimentary full-service bar. Attendees can also enjoy charging stations, a charm bar by Susan Alexandra, a content studio, and more.

How do you get to and from Gov Ball?
For rideshares, festivalgoers are advised to set the pick up/drop off point as “Gov Ball” or “NY Hall of Science” then walk 15 miuntes to the main entrance.
For mass transit, commuters can take the Long Island Rail Road or the No. 7 subway train to Mets-Willets Point Station. The LIRR departs twice an hour from Penn and Grand Central Stations. Riders can catch the No. 7 from Hudson Yards, Times Square, Grand Central or any other station on the No. 7 line.
What's the bag policy?
Small clutch purses and fanny packs that are 6" by 9" or smaller are allowed and do not need to be clear. All other bags must be clear and smaller than 12" x 6" x 12".
Hydration packs are allowed and do not need to be clear, but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment.
What's not allowed into the festival?
The following items are not allowed into the festival:
- Bags that don't align with the bag policy
- Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products
- Coolers of any kind (Exceptions may be made for medical use)
- Any and all professional video equipment. No video recording will be allowed
- Professional cameras and professional recording (photo, video, audio) equipment (NO large professional detachable zoom lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, attachment sticks (selfie sticks) or other commercial equipment
- Drones or any other remote flying device
- Hammocks
- Inflatables of any kind
- Glass containers of any kind
- Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind
- Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind
- Umbrellas
- Pets (except service animals)
- Selfie sticks
- Flags
- Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts or any personal motorized vehicles
- Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind
- Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, give-aways, samples, etc.
- Weapons or explosives of any kind
- Fireworks
- Flushing Meadows Corona Park is smoke free. Smoking and vaping banned in all parks
- Chains of any kind OR Spike Jewelry
- Bicycles inside festival grounds
- Carts of any kind (including Red Wagons)
- Chairs of any kind
