Live updates: Trump fires back at 'CRAZY!' Musk, who then claims president is in Epstein files
President Trump fired back at Elon Musk Thursday afternoon, saying "he just went CRAZY!" and threatening to cut his government contracts.
“Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” Trump wrote in one post.
“The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!” Trump wrote in another.
Shortly after, Musk posted "a really big bomb" and claimed Trump was in the files of financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The comments come as Musk is escalating his broadsides against the GOP's "big, beautiful bill," Republican leaders in Congress — and Trump himself.
Musk appeared to accuse Trump of "ingratitude" in a post Thursday on social platform X, after the president suggested the billionaire's criticism of the "big, beautiful bill" was self-interested.
Trump said Musk seemed to miss being in the White House and was upset about Republicans rolling back Biden-era electric vehicle incentives. Musk responded on X, saying Trump would have lost the election without him.
