Beloved Ohio Restaurant Closing Down After 21 Years
An Ohio restaurant and bar announced Thursday morning that it will be shutting down after 21 years in business.
Patrick Lahey, proprietor of Stella's Restaurant and Bar in Perrysburg, Ohio, shared the sad news in a heartfelt social media post earlier today. Lahey called the decision a "difficult" one.
"After much reflection and with a heart full of gratitude, I’m writing to share that I have made the difficult decision to close our family restaurant," he wrote.
Located downtown near the Maumee River, Stella's advertised itself as "Perrysburg’s original fine dining restaurant."
Over the years, customers have been treated to a variety of burgers and pizzas, house-made pastas, classic entrees and specialty drinks and cocktails.
Lahey owned the local fixture for the last several years. In his post, he mentioned time commitments and family obligations as reasons for letting the business go.
"Stella’s has been more than just a place to dine—it’s been a part of the fabric of this community for over 21 years, a space filled with cherished memories, laughter, and love," Lahey said. "For the better part of a decade, under my ownership and service, Stella’s has brought my family and I immeasurable joy and purpose. Stella’s has been my second home.
"We've watched families grow, friendships form, and countless stories unfold across our tables. Being a part of your lives in this way has been one of the greatest honors of my life. As you probably know restaurants require unbelievable commitment and crazy work hours. But now, it’s time for me to refocus on my family, and health. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s the right one."
