Zach Gilford Reveals He Missed His Son's Birth, Was On Set During Pandemic Era
Zach Gilford is opening up about missing the birth of his son.
The 43-year-old Criminal Minds: Evolution star revealed in an interview released this week that he as filming a TV show during the pandemic, and unfortunately was unable to make it to his son Revel‘s birth.

“It’s definitely something I’m really proud of,” he said on The Julia Cunningham Show of the Netflix series Midnight Mass. “Which sounds weird ’cause it’s a vampire show.”
“There’s a lot of existential stuff going on in that [show]. Also, it was during the pandemic [when] we shot it, it was, I had to miss the birth of my son to shoot it,” Zach shared. “I was really in the headspace of ‘I suck, I don’t to be here.’ This is like, ‘Maybe I’ll meet my son someday.’”
“Luckily I did, spoiler,” he joked. “He likes me. He didn’t even notice, he was fine.”
Zach‘s shares now four-year-old son Revel with soon-to-be ex-wife Kiele Sanchez, as well as seven-year-old daughter Zeppelin.
Back in April, Zach filed for divorce from Kiele after 12 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
They met while working on a TV pilot that never got picked up, and since then also worked together on The Purge: Anarchy and on Kingdom, as well as more recently on Criminal Minds: Evolution, where she played his character’s wife.
