6/6/2025: More showers, storms, humidity
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Not quite as hot today, but still awfully humid and with a chance for more active weather. Temperatures rise to around 80 by the early afternoon. Approaching showers will blossom into downpours and thunderstorms for much of the second half of the day.
All the humidity will lend itself to heavy rain, and many are under a flood watch. Watch for pooling of water on the roads and rising rivers, creeks, and streams. A few storms could be strong to severe, especially east of Albany and into the Berkshires, with gusty winds and small hail possible.
Lingering showers and downpours overnight, with temperatures staying roughly 10 degrees above average.
Tomorrow is still a bit unsettled with clouds and spotty showers around. It will be, however, far less humid. We are optimistic that there will be some clearing late in the day - hopefully in time for the running of the Belmont Stakes just after 7 PM in Saratoga Springs.
Sunday looks better, still in the upper 70's but with dry conditions and more sun. More clouds Monday, but rain chances look limited.
A better chance for showers on Tuesday, then clearing out and warming up for Wednesday and Thursday - stay cool out there!
