Livvy Dunne Sends a Message After Gymnastics Retirement
Livvy Dunne may have retired from gymnastics. But she'll always be a gymnast at heart.
Case in point, the 22-year-old recently walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway in Miami Beach, and she couldn't help but bust out the splits when she reached the runway. She joked that she was "triple dog dared" but something tells us the move's rooted deep in her heart.
Now out of the gymnastics spotlight as a superb student-athlete at LSU, Dunne says she's excited to get going on her post-gymnastics plans. She told The Associated Press that there's a lot on the horizon.
"I’m going to miss gymnastics so much because it has been a part of me for almost 20 years,” Dunne told the AP at AthleteCon. "What’s next? Everything. I want to do all of the things that I couldn’t do while I was a gymnast” because of the time constraints of being a student-athlete.
As for what's next? She teased.
“So there are some really cool opportunities — stay tuned,” she added.
Dune, who is dating Pittsburgh Pirates superstar Paule Skenes, had sought to bounce back from a knee injury earlier this year. The injury, however, kept her out of competing in the NCAA Championship.
With gymnastics out of the way, maybe she'll go back to judging Skenes' gymnastic moves.
