Bruce Willis' Daughter Rumer Gives Emotional Update on His Life
Bruce Willis' challenges with dementia are well-known.
His blended family's loving support for him is also clear. Fans who care about Willis seem to appreciate when his loved ones give an update about how he's doing.
Sometimes those updates come from his wife Emma Heming or his ex-wife Demi Moore. Now, Willis' daughter Rumer Willis has given a peek into how her dad is doing.
She spoke to People about her joy in seeing her dad and her mom interact with their grandchild, Rumer's daughter Louetta.
"Even with my dad, given the challenges that he's dealing with, whenever we go over there to visit, his face just lights up and he gets so excited and is so sweet with her," she told People in May 2025, which noted that Louetta was born in 2023.
"My family is so incredible with her. I feel so lucky, and she's so lucky. I mean, they are obsessed with her," Rumer told People.
Rumer also told People that her daughter calls Demi Moore "Yaya."
"My mom, she's Yaya to Lou. She's the one who brought in the contraband of Moana and Disney because I was like, 'We don't watch TV in this house. We don't ever. Not until she's 5.' And then I went over and Moana was on. I was like, 'Come on!' " she told People. "But they love each other. I mean, you should see her face light up when they're on FaceTime when we're away."
Rumer Willis frequently shares photos of her daughter on Instagram. Demi Moore occasionally shares updates and photos of Bruce Willis.
In 2023, Willis' family released a statement about his condition.
"Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis," it read in part.
