However, it's the end of an era for the Sooners, who fell to Texas Tech in the semifinals this year. Now, Texas Tech will take on Texas in an one-of-a-kind Lone Star State clash.
The Texas Longhorns made it all the way to the Championship Finals in 2024, but they fell to Oklahoma in the first two games. This year, Texas won Game 1 with a 2-1 final score. However, the Texas Tech Red Raiders evened out the series in Game 2 with a 4-3 win. The best-of-three series heads to a tie-breaking, winner-take-all Game 3, which will hand one of the teams its first-ever WCWS title.
