Bus diversions from Oistins
Commuters who use Transport Board buses and Route Taxis (ZRs) which pass through Oistins, Christ Church will have to make some adjustments to their plans.
An oil spill in the southern town not only forced the closure of a section of the road, but during the cleanup, several bus routes will have to be diverted.
In a media release, the Transport Board said the connections to the ABC Highway and College Savannah, St John, were not affected but some impact will be felt on the other routes which connect Speightstown, St Peter; Black Rock, St Michael; Silver Sands, Christ Church and Sam Lord’s Castle, St Philip.

Outbound Services: Bridgetown to Sam Lords Castle, Speightstown to Oistins
Buses will continue their normal route from Bridgetown and Speightstown along Highway 7 and make a U-turn above Southern Plaza, travel along Highway 7 to the Top Rock Roundabout, onto ABC Highway and turn right into Kingsland, right onto Lodge Road, left onto Church Hill, right onto Thornbury Hill.
Passengers will have to disembark at Harvest Mart, Keizer Hill junction as the entire stretch of Oistins road has now been closed. The buses will stop at Harvest Mart and return via Thornbury Hill to continue along the normal route.
Inbound Services: Sam Lord’s Castle to Bridgetown, Oistins to Speightstown
Passengers can embark the buses at Harvest Mart, Keizer Hill junction. The buses will continue to Thornbury Hill, left onto Church Hill, right onto Lodge Road and left into Kingsland/Gall Hill Road, left onto ABC Highway, left onto Graeme Hall Road, left at Top Rock roundabout, Highway 7 through to Southern Plaza make a U-turn and continue the journey as normal to Bridgetown Southern Circle service will make the U-turn above Southern Plaza and return along its normal routing.
ABC Connection, ABC Highway, Oistins/College Savannah services are unaffected.
Route Taxis and Minibuses – Route 11 – Silver Sands, Route 3D – Airport, Route 9F Oistins to Black Rock.
These vehicles will divert through Church Hill left onto Oistins Hill, right turn onto Highway 7 and continue along their normal routing in both directions. (PR/SAT)
