Fans Blown Away by Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner 'Insane' French Open Final
After Carlos Alcaraz suffered an eye issue early on in the June 8 French Open final, it looked like he might be headed for a big loss against Italian Jannik Sinner.
The announcers remarked that he seemed like he had lost his concentration as he made mistake after mistake upon returning to the court.
But then something happened. Alcaraz battled back. In a big way. Time and again, even coming back from multiple match points, he hung on.
Sinner won the first set 6-4. And the second 7-6. But Alcaraz took the next two, 6-4 and 7-6, sending the match into a fifth set at Roland-Garros. Alcaraz then won that set in a thrilling tie-breaker.
