Rafael Nadal Had 1-Word Message for Carlos Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner played one of the most incredible matches in tennis history on Sunday in the French Open final.
Alcaraz emerged victorious after the longest final in tournament history, as the players battled for nearly five hours.
Alcaraz was able to win the war of attrition, coming from two sets down to capture his second consecutive French Open championship.
The greatest French Open champion of all time reacted to Alcaraz's huge win, offering his support for a fellow Spaniard.
"What an incredible ending to Roland Garros! Congratulations Carlos Alcaraz! Congrats also Jannik Sinner for the great battle," Rafael Nadal said on Sunday afternoon.
¡Qué final de @rolandgarros tan increíble! ????

¡Enhorabuena @carlosalcaraz! ????????????
Congrats also @janniksin for the great battle ????????
Nadal won the French Open a record 14 times in his career, and is considered one of the greatest players of all time. He once won a record 81 consecutive clay matches, the longest such streak of the Open Era.
The win marks the fifth overall Grand Slam title for the 22-year-old Alcaraz. He's now a two-time champion in the French Open and at Wimbledon, and he won the 2022 US Open. The Australian Open - a tournament Sinner has won each of the last two years - is the only Grand Slam event that has eluded Alcaraz to this point in his career.
He'll look to become a three-time Wimbledon champion in a matter of weeks, when the ATP Tour heads to London. A win for Alcaraz at Wimbledon would put him ahead of Nadal in the career tally at that major, as they've both won it twice.
Roger Federer has the all-time record with eight wins at Wimbledon, including five straight wins from 2003 through 2007.
If Alcaraz is able to make it to the final at Wimbledon, the odds are certainly in his favor. He's undefeated so far in Grand Slam singles finals, winning all five he's competed in.
The Nadal, Federer and Djokovic generation captured the hearts and minds of tennis fans for several years. After today's incredible match and some of the great feats we've seen over the last few years, it's safe to say that the game is in good hands for the future.
