Australian and South African squad announced for WTC 2025 Final: Look at who secured their places
World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final is going to begin June 11 in Leeds. Both Australia and South Africa have announced their playing XIs, where both young players and veterans have been trusted to carry their team.
Sam Konstas sacked from Australian team:
Sam Konstas, who made his debut in Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, is not given a spot in Australia’s playing XI. He is not taken even though he impressed with his batting in the match against India, especially playing some attractive shots against Jasprit Bumrah.
Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja as openers:
In the final of the World Test Championship, Australia’s team will enter the field with a new opening pair. Marnus Labuschagne will be seen opening for the first time with Usman Khawaja.
Scott Boland did not get a place:
Scott Boland, who wreaked havoc in the Test series against India, could not find a place in the playing-11. Josh Hazlewood will be Australia’s third fast bowler after Cummins and Starc.
Australia’s Playing XI:
Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
South Africa’s Playing XI:
Temba Bavuma (c), Aiden Markram , Ryan Rickelton, Wiaan Mulder, Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, Kyle Verrynne, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi.
