Retro Coca-Cola Flavor Returning for Limited Time This Summer
Coca-Cola is officially bringing back an old Diet Coke flavor for a limited time this summer.
Diet Cherry Coke was originally introduced in 1986. A little over three decade laters, Coca-Cola launched Diet Coke Feisty Cherry. By 2020, the company discontinued their Diet Cherry Coke flavors.
Starting in mid-July, fans of Coca-Cola products can get their hands on a Retro Diet Cherry Coke. This vintage-inspired soft drink will be available at the Kroger family of stores, which includes Baker's, City Market, Food 4 Less, King Soopers, Metro Market, Pick'n Save and Ralphs among others.
"We are thrilled to confirm that Retro Diet Cherry Coke will be available exclusively at Kroger family of stores beginning mid-July for a limited time only," a spokesperson for Coca-Cola told NBC Chicago.
The Diet Cherry Coke cans featured red and white stripes. Fans are hopeful Coca-Cola is bring back that same retro design for this summer's rerelease.
"While we are unable to share a photo of this release at this time, we can confirm the can and bottle design are nearly identical to the late-80's design seen here," the caption from SodaSeekers' post read.
Only time will tell if consumers ditch Coca-Cola Zero Cherry this summer for Diet Cherry Coke.
