House fire broke out in Broussard, cause remains under investigation
UPDATE, 6/14/25, 4:15 p.m.: Broussard Fire Department released an update on the house fire on 100 Janin Road that occurred this afternoon.
According to firefighters, they received the call around 2:20 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters observed the fire coming from the roof when they arrived.
The home was occupied when the fire broke out but everyone inside the home got out
safely with no reported injuries. The house was destroyed by the fire, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY) -- A house fire ignited in Broussard allegedly caused by lightening, according to National Weather Service Lake Charles and Broussard Fire Department.
The incident occurred on the 100 block of Janin Road near Emancipation Road in Broussard around 2:20 p.m. earlier today.
Firefighters confirmed there had been no reported injuries and the suspected cause is under investigation.
