Starbucks Sparks Excitement With Protein-Packed Cold Foam
Starbucks just made a pretty significant announcement that could change the game for their fitness-conscious customers, and it sounds like people are pretty excited.
Last week, Starbucks announced that it would be testing a brand new protein-packed cold foam that could go on top of any drink, adding about 15 grams of protein to the beverages.
In a trial sample given to reporters from various news outlets at a company event in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Starbucks offered samples of a banana protein cold foam in a sugar-free vanilla latte, but the protein cold foam can be added to any Starbucks beverage.
The exciting new product will be tested in five Starbucks locations throughout the country, with the possibility that it could be rolled out nationwide in the future.
Needless to say, the announcement sparked a lot of excitement.
"Starbucks just developed an ingenious way to add 15 grams of protein to almost any drink. Cold foam is one of Starbucks’s most popular add-ons. Now, it can be packed with protein, too," Tom Vierhile, VP of Strategic Insights, North America, at Innova Market Insights.
"Starbucks's Protein Cold Foam could be the company’s most important innovation since the Pumpkin Spice Latte," Fast Company added in a post.
"I bet this will be a hit. People are already blending protein into everything. Smart move if they get the flavor right," someone else wrote.
"As a diabetic, the sugar-free vanilla is my go-to latte (hot and iced) -- Many Starbucks baristas know how many shots of espresso and pumps of sugar-free vanilla I like, so I was thrilled to hear about the banana foam with protein," another social media user added.
"You can now add protein foam to any Starbucks cold drink. Yes, even that Iced Glitter Strawberry Ghost Milk you invented in 2019. Chaos is not only allowed. It's encouraged," someone else added.
We'll have to see how the trial run goes.
