Argyle man freed after being stuck in former Dutchess Co. prison
FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- An Argyle man was arrested Saturday after trespassing into a former prison. According to New York State Police, 19-year-old Cody Mallon was charged with a class B misdemeanor for entering the former Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill.
Troopers said they received a call of a person stuck inside a cell at the former prison around midnight on Saturday. Upon arrival, state police found the caller, identified as Mallon, locked inside one of the facility's cells.
According to troopers, Mallon entered the facility by crawling through a hole in the fence, in order to take photos inside. After troopers and the Glenham Fire Department helped him out of the cell, he was charged with third-degree criminal trespass.
Mallon was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Fishkill Court.
