Iota man charged with child rape, false imprisonment; other victims possible
IOTA, La. (KLFY) -- An Iota man has been charged with multiple counts of raping a child, and authorities are asking other possible victims to come forward.
Cody Ewing, 36, of Iota, was arrested by Iota Police Monday evening and charged with four counts each of second degree rape, felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and false imprisonment, as well as one count of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
Iota Police Chief David Pousson said no more information on the case will be released, due to the victim being a child, but that others may have been victimized.
"With the suspect in custody, investigators are reaching out to inquire about the possibility of other victims that may be reluctant to come forward," Pousson said.
Anyone with knowledge of those possible crimes is asked to call Detective Bryan Foti with the Iota Police Department at 337-779-3345.
