Wendy's Confirms Takis-Inspired Menu Items

Over the past several years, Takis have taken the snack world by storm. Now, they're coming to Wendy's.

For the uninitiated, Takis are a Mexican brand of flavored rolled tortilla chips that have become immensely popular in the United States, particularly among younger consumers. Now, the beloved salty snack is going to be a part of the Wendy's menu in some pretty unique ways.

On Tuesday, Wendy's officially confirmed that two Takis-inspired items will be added to the menu later this month: Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich and Takis Fuego Fries.

The Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich includes a Wendy's spicy chicken filet topped with crushed Takis Fuego chips, Chili Lime Sauce, creamy corn spread and a cheddar cheese sauce to create "a one-of-a-kind sandwich that is equal parts spicy, crunchy and savory," Wendy's announced.

Takis fans can pair the sandwich with an order of Takis Fuego Fries. The fries, which are inspired by Takis, are Wendy's already iconic french fries tossed in a tangy chili lime seasoning to give them an extra kick.

The items will be available together as the Takis Fuego Meal or a la carte. Customers can also add a bag of Takis Fuego chips to their Takis Fuego Meal while supplies last.

Needless to say, Wendy's is excited about the partnership.

The Takis-inspired items will be joining the Wendy's menu beginning on June 20 in the United States and June 30 in Canada.
