Iran Threatens to Target US Bases in the Region after Trump’s Warning
Iran threatened to target U.S. bases across the Middle East after Trump’s message, warning of consequences for host nations.
Hours after Donald Trump’s message, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened the United States, warning that it would target American bases in the region. The IRGC stated that if the U.S. or Western nations use their regional bases against Iran, hostile bases across the Middle East would be wiped out. The IRGC emphasized that the consequences of such actions would fall on the host nations of these bases.
Donald Trump, in a message posted on Truth Social on Tuesday, June 17, demanded the “unconditional surrender” of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In another post, he claimed that Iran had lost control of its airspace, stating: “We now have full and complete control over the skies of Iran.” Trump also added that the United States knows where Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is located, saying: “He’s an easy target, but for now, he’s safe — we will not eliminate him just yet.”
The war between Iran and Israel has seen a rapid escalation, particularly over the past five days, as both nations continue to target key military and strategic assets. On the fifth day of the conflict, Iranian forces launched a series of missile strikes aimed at Israeli military installations and critical infrastructure. These attacks marked an intensification in the conflict, as both countries engage in increasingly sophisticated warfare, each targeting the other’s key defense systems and assets.
Today evening, Iran further escalated the conflict with a new round of missile strikes on Israel. The missiles, reportedly fired from Iranian territory, targeted multiple Israeli cities, causing significant damage to civilian and military infrastructure. This new wave of attacks follows a pattern of Iranian retaliations against Israeli airstrikes and incursions into Iranian-controlled territories. Israel has activated its defense systems, but reports suggest that several missiles have managed to breach the Iron Dome, causing casualties and widespread panic.
The situation has become increasingly dire, with both sides suffering heavy losses. In response, Israel has vowed to retaliate with force, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing for a prolonged conflict. International calls for de-escalation have intensified, but both Iran and Israel seem poised to continue their aggressive military strategies. As the war enters a new phase, the prospect of broader regional involvement remains a significant concern, with the potential for further internationalization of the conflict.
