Name of deputy who shot, killed assault suspect in Gresham released
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have named the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputy who shot and killed an assault suspect in Gresham on Friday.
Deputy Adam Suboh was placed on critical incident leave, which is standard protocol, while the Gresham Police Department investigates.
On June 13, deputies from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a disturbance on NE 162nd Ave near Glisan Street.
Once at the scene, authorities said they found cause to arrest an armed suspect for assault and other charges, but when they attempted to contact him, he ran away.
Deputy Suboh soon found the suspect nearby and shot them, police said. A Gresham police officer also deployed a “less-lethal projectile” during the incident.
The suspect died from his injuries after being taken to a hospital.
