‘90s Sitcom Star Kelsey Grammer Has Major Family News at 70
Kelsey Grammer will soon welcome another child with his wife, Kayte Walsh. The Frasier star, 70, and his wife, 46, are expecting their fourth baby together, which will be the actor's eighth child, People magazine reported.
The couple married in 2011 and already share children Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. Grammer, who has been married three other times, also has a grown daughter, Spencer, 41, with his first wife, Doreen Alderman, as well as daughter Greer, 33, with ex Barrie Buckner, and daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20, with his ex-wife Camille Meyer.
An insider told DailyMail.com that while baby No. 8 wasn’t planned, the actor is reportedly in a great place in his life to embrace fatherhood one more time.
“Kelsey is thrilled to finally have time to fully enjoy being a father all over again,” a source told the outlet. “He’s been incredibly supportive of Kayte throughout this pregnancy, which, though unexpected, has reignited a spark in their marriage that they both needed. After giving Frasier one last go, he has hung his hat up on that character and is ready for the next phase of his life. He is looking forward to embracing the hands-on parenting he missed in the past.”
Grammer is best known for his long-running TV role as psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane. He debuted the character on the NBC sitcom Cheers from 1984 to 1993, then reprised the role in the Frasier spinoff from 1993 to 2004, and again from 2023 to 2024.
In 2018, the actor told Closer Weekly that it some ways it was easier to have children later in life. “When you reach a certain age, you don’t worry about your career the same way,” Grammer explained. “[Earlier in life] your kids get a little lost in the shuffle, and you end up regretting it.”
