North America's Best Airline Isn't U.S.-Based
The 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards were held during the Paris Air Show, and the top honor for best North American airline went to Air Canada.
The prestigious award honored the airline for its impeccable customer and cabin service. The airline was recognized for considerable upgrades, that includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a user-friendly app, free in-flight snacks and drinks, among other things.
Delta Airlines (No. 2), United Airlines (No. 4), JetBlue (No. 5) and Alaska Airlines (No. 6) ranked in North America's top 10 list.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards, of course, also listed the top 20 airlines in the world. Air Canada came in at No. 20. No American airline made the list.
Qatar Airways took home the top honor for best airline in the world, followed by Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, ANA All Nippon Airways, Turkish Airlines, Korean Air, Air France, Japan Airlines and Hainan Airlines rounding out the top 10.

Air Canada had lots of reason to celebrate. Its Toronto Pearson Signature Suite also took home the world's Best Business Class Lounge Dining award. The airline also was bestowed as the most family-friendly airline in North America, and its flight attendants as the best cabin crew in both Canada and North America.
Some 22 million global travelers participate in the customer satisfaction surveys that help churn out the annual list.
These lists, as of late, have stung a bit for Americans, who have now seen a Mexico City bar bestowed as the Best Bar in North American for the second straight year, and now the Best Airline in North America award going to a Canadian airline.
