New Pixar Movie 'Elio' Turns Heads With First Rotten Tomatoes Score
In just two days, Pixar's latest film will make its debut in theaters around the country.
Elio follows the story of an 11-year-old whose biggest wish is to get abducted by aliens, as well as his Aunt Olga (voiced by recent Academy Award Winner, Zoe Saldana), and Glordon, Elio’s unexpected first friend who happens to be an alien. The titular character will travel millions of miles across the universe, encountering a host of out-of-this-world creatures who just might help him figure out exactly where he belongs.
Elio is the latest film from Pixar following the release of Inside Out 2, which hit theaters in June 2024. The new movie will follow the beloved studio's trend of releasing new films in the heart of June when schools around the country close for summer break.
As the film gets set for its theatrical release, the first reviews are starting to flood in. "Critics say #Elio is one of Pixar's best in recent memory, with colorful, inventive world-building and a heartfelt message," Rotten Tomatoes said in the caption of its post.

Fans are ready for the new - and original - movie.
"This movie is going to be great, makes me wish people are more kinder to the movie, since its original and not a pointless remake (cough Disney cough)," one person said.
"Says who," offered another, questioning the reviews.
"❤️❤️❤️ It sure is," added a third.
Elio is currently sitting at an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes after 62 reviews from critics.
