'Lion King' Star Rumored to Be In Talks For Next James Bond
Another day, another James Bond casting rumor! This time, a reliable Hollywood insider, Daniel Richtman, has leaked a massive update on the status of the next 007 film, being helmed by Amazon/MGM. And, if this rumor is true, it means that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman have a shortlist of actors, and one name on that list is Mufasa himself, the star of the 2024 movie Rebel Ridge, Aaron Pierre.
"The plan is for the next Bond is to film next year," Ritchman wrote in his latest update. "Still no director or actors attached but I hear that Aaron Pierre is also someone they are considering for Bond."
Ritchman also added that it was unclear if the new Bond producers had even met with Pierre, which means this rumor should very much be taken with a grain of salt.

As a London native, Pierre is an appropriate choice for Bond, even if it is a long shot right now. In addition to his starring role in Rebel Ridge, Pierre's career is impressively expansive. He played the character of Dev-Em in the Superman prequel series Krypton, but he's also played Malcolm X in Genius.
Most recently, Pierre lent his voice to the little cub that would be king in Mufasa: The Lion King. A former superpowered Kryptonian and former Lion King as the next Bond? If Pierre is the next Bond, he's certainly already got the swagger.
