Popular Brewery in Ohio Permanently Closing After 6 Years
It's always a tear-jerker when a local bar or restaurant closes its doors, because over the years of that establishment being there, it really becomes part of the community. But, sometimes, it's inevitable.
So, instead of being upset about a favorite local spot closing, why not celebrate it? In that spirit, a popular local bar and restaurant has announced that it's closing for good.
According to research conducted by Statista, the United States has around 62,000 bars and nightclubs. Also, according to the National Beer Wholesalers Association, as of December 2023, there were 14,597 breweries in the U.S. But, now, there's one less.
BrewDog Cincinnati, located on in the Pendleton neighborhood of Cincinnati, is closing for good. The establishment made the announcement on social media on June 16 with an emotional farewell post to the local community.
"We've made the difficult decision to permanently close BrewDog Cincinnati," the staff said on social media. "It's been an absolute honor to serve this city. Over the years, we've shared beers, stories, laughter, and unforgettable moments and we're incredibly grateful for every one of them."
They also thanked "our amazing team members, loyal guests, and local partners who brought energy, passion, and good vibes into our taproom every single day."
The good news is that, according to the company, BrewDog beers will still be available at local retailers, bars and restaurants in the region. They closed out the note by thanking the city of Cincinnati.
Upon the news, one follower noted on Facebook, "Thank you for your many years of delicious meals, great beers, and a ton of wonderful family memories as our absolute favorite and go-to choice for 'Where should we go for dinner?' tonight," adding that the spot will be "sorely missed."
BrewDog Cincinnati opened in 2019, so it's been around for about six years, and featured a variety of different types of beers, as well as a full kitchen.
