Eric Dane, New Girlfriend Catch Attention With Rare Public Appearance
Back in April, Rebecca Gayheart broke her silence on the decision to call off her divorce from actor Eric Dane weeks after his ALS Diagnosis.
In an interview with E! News, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum said, "We are best friends. We are really close. We are great co-parents" while emphasizing focus on their children Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. "We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it and we are as well."
"I think it’s important to not look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It’s just a season. It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success," Gayheart added at the time after calling off the divorce initiated in 2018.
Earlier this week Dane revealed he started experienced weakness in his right hand, but didn't think much about it at the time. “But a few weeks later I noticed that it had gotten a little worse,” he said. “So I went and saw a hand specialist who sent me to another hand specialist. I went and saw a neurologist, and the neurologist sent me to another neurologist and said, 'This is way above my pay grade.'”
A year and a half after his symptoms initially started, Dane said his right side has "completely stopped working" and feels "like maybe a couple, few more months, and I won't have my left hand either. It's sobering.”
While he battles the neurodegenerative disease, Dane isn't hiding from the spotlight. On Wednesday night he made his red carpet debut with new girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff, a director and photographer.
"The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other. Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him," Entertainment Tonight reported.

Entertainment Tonight claimed Dane and Gayheart have "become better friends and better parents" and that she's his "biggest champion" as he navigates his health challenges. Meanwhile, his relationship with Shirtcliff continues to grow as he battles the health ailment.
"They're extremely close and mean a great deal to one another," a source told ET. "Eric has been in such great spirits and is handling everything with such strength. He’s a true warrior."
