Famous Singer’s Home Sells for Whopping $25 Million in California Neighborhood
Hillsborough, California, is a small town just a short drive away from San Francisco and is filled with mansions.
Now, one mansion that used to belong to the famous singer Bing Crosby has been sold for a whopping amount.
Crosby's home, owned by his second wife, Kathryn Crosby, has been sold for $25 million, per Karli Mullane of Realtor.com.
"Famed crooner Bing Crosby's former California mansion has officially sold for $25 million — to a buyer who is already planning a worthy encore for the iconic property that will honor the singer's incredible legacy."
The French chateau-style estate was built in 1929 and had been in the Crosby family for six decades.
Kathryn passed away in 2024, which prompted the house to be sold now.
The home is 14,000 square feet and sits across five acres with 11 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, and five half bathrooms.
It also has four levels, so it is a giant house worthy of the expensive price tag.
Jennifer Gilson, the listing agent for the house, revealed there was a lot of interest and the buyers plan to embrace the Crosby legacy.
“The sellers, the Crosby family, are grateful for a buyer that wants to embrace the legacy of the property...It will be coming back to market after a refresh is completed, and I expect strong buyer interest for this property.” Gilson said.
The buyer's plan is to renovate the house into more of a modern style and Gilson expects it to go back on the market when it is done.
On top of that, the $25 million payout is the most expensive Hillsborough has recorded in the last two years, per the report.
