'Sinners' Ryan Coogler Says He's 'Fired Up' About New ‘X-Files’ Reboot
Ryan Coogler is all gas, no brakes when it comes to work, which is why following the tremendous success of his hit film, Sinners, he’s already locked in on what’s next.
While Coogler will be an executive producer on the upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart, he's also developing the much-anticipated X-Files reboot. Based on Coogler's comments about the return of X-Files, fans should be in for a treat.
The original X-Files series ran for 11 seasons, beginning in 1993, spanning 218 episodes. It was one of the longest-running science fiction series in television history. It also returned for two seasons in 2016 and 2018.
Now, it's tentatively set for a return in October 2025, and based on Coogler's comments, it could provide some seriously scary episodes.

During a previous interview with Last Podcast On The Left, Coogler spoke about the X-Files reboot, which Screen Rant highlighted.
“I’m fired up to get back to it, and that, you know, some of those [X-Files] episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f--king scary," Coogler said.
It's exciting news for longtime fans of X-Files, and this should also help entice an entirely new audience to the show.
Along with the original X-Files series and its two-season reboot, there was also an X-Files movie released in 1998, and two spinoffs, The Lone Gunmen (2001) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008).
