Albany Black Chamber of Commerce hosts Juneteenth celebration
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Black Chamber of Commerce hosted its second annual Juneteenth Block Party and Freedom Day Celebration on Thursday. It included live performances and food and introduced people to a wide variety of programs.
"We partnered with the Albany Black Chamber of Commerce, 518 Black Restaurant Week, Eva Bass for AVillage, and we just brought everybody together. All the community organizations that like to get their information out and share about who they are. So we kind of brought everybody together to make this work collaborative."
"This year we tripled in size, and it shows the power of what freedom really feels like and looks like and that's why we're here -- to show that this could be a unified city and we could do a lot of great things together in collaboration without these little, small subgroups."
