Wyndham Clark Apologizes for U.S. Open Locker Room Meltdown
Golf is an individual sport, which means that players are responsible for every aspect of their performance. If things go well, you get all the credit. Of course, if things don't go well, you take on all of the blame.
The latter was true for one golfer at the U.S. Open last week, and he let his emotions get the best of him after a tough two rounds at Oakmont. The course humbled the world's greatest golfers all weekend long, and this former champion took his frustrations out on the locker room.
Reports surfaced that 2023 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark trashed his locker room at Oakmont - lockers that have existed for over 100 years.

Clark owned up to the damage after shooting a 64 to start the Travelers Championship in Connecticut on Thursday.
"Yeah, I mean, I've had a lot of highs and lows in my career, especially this year some lows," Clark said.
"I made a mistake that I deeply regret. I'm very sorry for what happened, but I'd also like to move on, not only for myself but for Oakmont, for the USGA, and kind of focus on the rest of the year and things that come up."
Clark missed the cut at the U.S. Open by one shot, a frustrating end to one of the year's biggest events for the former winner. Clark won the event in 2023 at the Los Angeles Country Club, defeating Rory McIlroy by a single shot.
Clark is in the hunt this weekend at the Travelers, but he's facing some of the same stiff competition he was up against at the U.S. Open. The PGA Tour's best are out to play on a much easier course, and that could spell big scores for the weekend.
Scottie Scheffler, this year's PGA Champion, shot a nine-under 61 to start the tournament on Thursday, setting the tone for what's sure to be an exciting weekend of golf.
Clark has put himself in a great position to avoid a similar meltdown in Connecticut this weekend. We'll see how things turn out for him in the first big tournament after J.J. Spaun's incredible win at the U.S. Open.
