Justin Verlander and Kate Upton Turn Heads With Baby Number 2's Unique Name

Justin Verlander may be taking a brief break from the mound, but for good reason. He and his wife Kate Upton have just welcomed their second child.

A representative for Upton confirmed to TMZ that the couple’s baby boy, Bellamy Brooks Verlander, was born on Thursday, June 19. Verlander, currently pitching for the San Francisco Giants, was officially placed on paternity leave Friday afternoon following the announcement.

This marks the second child for the baseball legend and the supermodel. 

Their first daughter, Genevieve Upton Verlander, was born in November 2018. Now, nearly seven years later, the pair has grown their family, and fans couldn't be more thrilled.

Verlander and Upton first met back in 2012, launching one of sports and fashion's most high-profile relationships. They married in 2017 during a romantic ceremony in Italy, just days after Verlander helped lead the Houston Astros to a World Series title.

Known for her Sports Illustrated covers and global modeling campaigns, Upton has remained relatively private about her personal life in recent years. 

Verlander, a future Hall of Famer, continues to carve out his legacy as one of the most dominant pitchers of his era, even in the twilight years of his career.

The name Bellamy Brooks adds a touch of Southern charm and vintage strength, fitting for the son of an elite athlete and a style icon. 

While the couple has not yet shared photos or additional details, the announcement instantly lit up fan conversations across sports and celebrity news circles.

For now, Verlander is taking time off to be with his growing family, but with playoff hopes looming, he’s expected to return to the Giants soon. Until then, he’s savoring a far more personal win: becoming a father again.
