2025's Most-Talked-About Movie Is Streaming For 'Free' Sooner Than You Think
Director Ryan Coogler's historical vampire epic, Sinners, has dominated the box office and the conversation around movies since its release in theaters in April. And now, this much-discussed and provocative film has set a streaming release date, which means you'll be able to watch the movie for "free," assuming you've got a subscription to HBO Max.
Sinners will hit HBO Max on July 4, 2025. Previously, Sinners was available on VOD on June 3. This means that right now, you could, if you wanted, purchase the movie digitally and watch it at home that way.

But if you have a subscription to HBO Max, Sinners will effectively be free on July 4. Currently, HBO Max subscriptions run $16.99 for the regular monthly plan, which does not include ads. There's also a $9.99 per month plan, which includes ads, and a $20.99 per month premium plan, which includes multiple devices.
Sinners tells the story of twin brothers, Stack and Smoke (both played by Michael B. Jordan), as they attempt to find their way in a post-prohibition America and get mixed up with a bunch of vampires — including Hailee Steinfeld's Mary — along the way. The film has been praised for its mixing of horror and historical genres, and generally breathing new life into the immortal and undead world of vampire movies.
After the success of Sinners, director Ryan Coogler (famous for Black Panther) has his sights on a possible reboot of The X-Files.
