Beloved Georgia Italian Restaurant Closing After More Than 10 Years
A popular Italian eatery in Columbus, Georgia is closing its doors this weekend after 12 years in business.
Trevioli Italian Kitchen, owned by Trevor Morris and his wife Brandi, will shutter, effective Saturday, June 28. The decision was announced in a social media post on Thursday.
According to the message, Trevioli is closing down "due to multiple determining factors."
"It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our customers, who became friends and family over the years, but it is time to say see you later," the post reads. "We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly.
"Due to multiple determining factors, it has become impossible for us to keep the business going. We treasure the shared experiences with you and appreciate your patronage greatly."
Trevioli's announcement was met with understandable sadness from many social media commenters.
"I’m so sad to hear this. Best wishes for what comes next. Thank you for so many wonderful date nights!" one person wrote.
"So sorry to hear this but thankful for all the memories!" another added.
"II’m so sorry to hear this. You guys have been my go-to restaurant for the last 5 years. Me, my family, and friends have had great memories at both locations. I wish you all the best. Be blessed," said a third person.
Despite the end of its storefront, Trevioli, which began with Morris and his wife selling their handmade pastas out of a storage unit in 2013, says it will continue to serve the area through catering and food trucks.
The property at 7466 Blackmon Road will also be available for rent.
"These are exceptional times, and we are thankful for your patience and understanding," Trevioli's post said. "Thank you for the past 12 years."
