New details about Sophia Hutchins‘ fatal ATV crash have been revealed.

Cops have spoken out to reveal what they believe happened in the moments before Sophia tragically died at the young age of 29. They also talked about why the ATV wreckage was left behind at the crash site and how Sophia‘s longtime friend Caitlyn Jenner was present after the accident occurred.

Sophia tragically died on Wednesday morning (July 2) after her ATV fell off a cliff in Malibu and dropped 350 feet into a ravine.

It was previously reported that Sophia‘s ATV rear-ended a car before veering off the road.

“It looks like she may have been speeding and rear-ended the other car, the other party, and then that caused her to veer to the right and go off the cliff,” Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in an interview with the Daily Mail.

“It doesn’t seem like she was following them. I think she just she came up on them and then hit the car,” Saucedo added. “So it looked like she tried to maneuver to go around it, but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there.”

Daily Mail reports that Saucedo “believes” that Caitlyn “attended the accident site while Sheriff’s deputies were on scene.”

The ATV wreckage, which can be seen in these photos taken days after the accident, has been left behind at the scene because the “tow company didn’t have a line that was long enough to attach it and pull it up.”

Several accidents have occurred in that same exact spot in the past and Sophia‘s ATV landed on top of the wreckage of a previous crash.
