Beloved Chain Restaurant Announces New Menu Item Starting July 9
The July 4th holiday has come and gone, but summer is far from over, thankfully. Now is the time that many restaurants start rolling out their new summer menus to give diners the chance to taste some fresh summer food and beverage items before fall starts to take over.
One of the most beloved summer treats is enjoying a fresh, cold soda pop on a hot day. Sometimes, that mix of a cold, carbonated beverage that's sweet and a little tangy is just what's needed to get through a 90-degree day.
Now, one popular chain restaurant has announced a new menu item, and it's in conjunction with a famous soda pop brand.
Dr Pepper has been around in one form or another since the 1800s. "Originally made in Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas, the drink's unique flavor was a hit when it was first sold in 1885," the company explains. "Wade Morrison, the drug store owner, named it "Dr. Pepper" after Dr. Charles Pepper, a Virginia doctor who was the father of a girl Morrison was once in love with."
Now, fast-casual restaurant concept Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has announced the new Dr Pepper Frost, which is a great treat for summer. The limited-time menu item will be available starting July 9 and run through August 26 at participating Freddy's locations nationwide through the drive-thru, in-restaurant dining, as well as through pickup or delivery on Freddy's mobile app and online.
"Freddy's Frosts feature a lighter, refreshing taste made with our signature freshly churned vanilla frozen custard, and we're excited to add the Dr Pepper Frost to our existing lineup of frosts for a limited time," Rick Petralia, director of menu strategy & innovation, said in a statement.
Freddy's new Dr Pepper Frost features creamy vanilla frozen custard blended with Dr Pepper and its 23 flavors and, the company says, is "topped with whipped cream to make a cool and creamy treat that pairs perfectly with any summer plans."
