Annual summer meals for kids program returns to Rensselaer County

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Rensselaer County has brought back the annual summer food program. The initiative will offer two meals daily to kids under 19.

Now in its 51st year, officials said the program has provided a lifeline for families, ensuring children have access to nutritious meals when school is out.

"No kid should go hungry," Assemblymember Scott Bendett said. 'It makes a big difference in learning and quality of life."

Families will be able to pick up food across 16 different sites in income-qualified areas across Rensselaer County. Dates and times are subject to change. Some locations require preregistration.
