Franklin man arrested for allegedly trying to drown another
PATTERSON, La. (KLFY) -- A Franklin man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted drowning, authorities said.
Justin Cyril Pellerin, 33, of Franklin, is charged with attempted second degree murder and simple battery.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Wilson Landing in Patterson just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a welfare complaint.
The complainant reported that another individual, identified as Pellerin, allegedly attempted to drown him at the sandbar off the Atchafalaya River.
Following an investigation, a warrant was obtained for Pellerin’s arrest. Deputies located Pellerin late Sunday evening and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Pellerin is being held on a $55,000 bond.
