Vermont State Police said Monday that a man died after being shot by a state trooper.
2. SUNY denies two Schenectady charter school proposals
According to SUNY, two Schenectady charter school proposals will not move forward: Schenectady Scholars Charter School and Urban Collegiate Academy Charter School.

4. Man dies after boating accident in Columbia County
A 21-year-old man has died after a boating accident in Columbia County. New York State Police said the accident happened on July 4 on Queechy Lake in Canaan.
5. Drowning victim recovered at Great Sacandaga Lake
Multiple rescue companies were called to the Great Sacandaga Lake near the Broadalbin Boat Launch Sunday night for reports of a missing swimmer. Shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, crews recovered the body.
