WATCH: Lightning caught on camera from PDX Tuesday night
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A hot, sunny, and dry day across Portland gave way to lightning views from Portland International Airport Tuesday evening.
A few lingering thunderstorms east of the Cascades continued to produce lightning Tuesday evening. The storm was strong enough to have its lightning seen from Portland as the skies started to fall dark.
The lightning strike likely occurred near Carson, WA in Skamania County at 9:45 p.m. KOIN's Courtyard by Marriott Portland Airport camera was pointing northeast at that time the strike was seen on radar.
The storms quickly started to die out as the daytime heating started to fade Tuesday evening. Another round of lightning is possible east of the Cascades by Wednesday afternoon and evening.
