Business payment defaults hit 10-year high as bankruptcies rise
Corporate financial distress in Finland intensified in the second quarter of 2025, with payment defaults and bankruptcy applications climbing to levels not seen in over a decade.
Data from credit information firm Asiakastieto shows that by the end of June, over 52,000 businesses had registered payment defaults. A year ago, the figure stood at around 47,000. The number of trattas – legally binding payment demands used in corporate debt collection – rose by more than 9 percent year-on-year.
