Brooks running shoes have a cult following, built on the back of comfortable, tried-and-true trainers like the Ghost and Adrenaline, among other models. But the brand has been innovating, too, and the Ghost Max is a great example. It’s a daily trainer with a puffed-up midsole and has the exceptionally soft, bouncy cushioning you'd expect from a pair of Hokas. Brooks doesn’t often have big sales on its shoes (they’re usually limited to a few low-stock pairs), but that’s not the case today.
The Brooks Ghost Max 2 is on sale for $120, a rare 20% discount from its normal price of $150. This shoe is available in seven colorways at that price, and you can order it in sizes 7 up to 15. Wide and extra-wide sizes are also available at the sale price. This second iteration of Brooks' higher-stack Ghost has earned over 400 five-star ratings from shoppers who say it's "just so good" and that "the bounce is amazing."

The Ghost Max 2 is a well-cushioned runner designed for comfy strides, whether you’re running or walking. The midsole features Brooks’ nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 cushioning foam, a lightweight, supremely soft material that gives this shoe its plush ride, and the sole features a rocker shape to help you glide smoothly from landing to toe off. The sole is also relatively wide and features raised sidewalls that cradle the foot for a stable, predictable ride—a notable feature since many tall, well-cushioned shoes can feel wobbly underfoot.
Brooks reviewers praise the Ghost Max 2’s “incredible comfort and bounce” and say it’s “a really comfortable, supportive and stable shoe.” Another agreed, saying, “I’ve had many pairs of Brooks over the years and these are the best,” while another simply called it “a runner’s dream.

Others noted that they're not just great for running. "Amazing comfort! I have wide feet and they fit perfectly. I used to love my Hokas, but these are way more comfortable the more miles you put on them. We do Disney a lot, and I can do 9-12 miles in them and still feel great."
If you like lots of cushioning under your feet, you’re going to love the Ghost Max 2—as the name implies, it takes a maximalist approach to cushioning. And at 20% off, you’ll also love the price. But act fast: Multiple colorways have already sold out, and these kicks won’t stay in stock much longer.
